hii so i’ve been busy lately (schools starting up and ive also been locking in on snowglobe!!) but i’ve worked some more on this

i added 2 more apps: a terminal and a newsfeed. the newsfeed uses an api endpoint to call the news, and i’m planning on adding more features to the terminal! i’ve also fixed the dragging issue thank god….acc no im just looking at it rn and fahh yo im acc done w ts

i also changed the font to ceveat, and i think the ui looks a lot more cozy now (i still need to change the font in the terminal tho haha). today i also updated the readme!!

later i’ll add all the icons (lowk cant find a newsfeed or terminal one but thats okay), work on the ui (and the FRICKING dragging issue bruhhh) then keep working on the secret feature!! i also want to make the os only accessible via a password, but thats a feature for the future ykk

yesterday and today i’ve just been working on the ui, which means adding icons, etc etc and also making the window look more like a window (hint at tuff feature trust)
the window drag program broke again (idek why) so i’m tryna figure out how to fix that (debugging is not fun) and i wanna figure out how to open mini windows inside the webOS to make it more like an OS

today i mostly just customized stuff. i added a favicon (just to it looks more polished), icons for all the apps, and im working on changing the cursor inside the site

im trying to find a tuff font but imo all the more modern UI ones look vibecoded idk

today i did a lot of work, mostly on this really tuff new feature im adding (ima call it touching grass for now), i reprogrammed the welcome screen, and got the basic format down

the ui rn looks vibecoded (which it lowk is cuz i needed it cleaned up for testing) but i will go through it tmr and redesign everything (cuz as much as it fits the vibe it does look chopped asf)

okay so today i rebranded again (it was too hard to think up a UI theme for kpop and i’m too lazy to change the wallpaper (feature coming soon tho dw)

i cleaned up some formatting so it’s slightly easier to test, and i’m working on a toolbar thats similar to those that run on actual laptops

today i started my kpop slack bot, and i made the help command. i’m having a bit of trouble with a facts command as there isnt a collective api with facts on kpop so uhh

i started cadding the case, but i lowk have no idea what to do because idk if everything is supposed to show up in the pcb 3d model (as rn it just shows the diodes and stuff but not the keys and its rlly stressing me out)

this lapse also took forever to fricking load im acc gonna crash out like im pretty sure there was another one before with like 55 mins attached but idk anymore pls help

after uh ghosting this project for a couple weeks (stuff happened lol), i came back today and did quite a bit. firstly, i fixed the time element and made it only display the date and hours/minutes

i also figured out how to make the background the NASA APOD

i also added a google search bar so its on its way to actually becoming a new tab

today i started the rebrand by firstly, deleting a lot of code, and secondly, deciding some features.

i deleted the resume, the notebook (gonna make a better one ofc) and the original welcome screen

im pretty much done the intro screen, i’m not gonna make it reopenable it’s just gonna be a separate tab type shi (and its very neutral)

i’m still debating whether to have separate themes for each kpop group (i’m gonna start w seventeen and enhypen first just to make sure ik changing it works, and everything would be easier as i would just have the icons like pictures of the group and stuff) or have the user themselves upload a background and stuff

i relocated the top bar to the bottom center (still have to work on the formatting and stuff ofc)

i’m thinking about what apps to build, definitely need weverse, mnet, spotify (already built, i’ll just keep it), a pomodoro timer, etc etc

okay so now that i have my very professional site, it’s time for the very exciting rebrand of ElenaOS

i’m brainstorming themes rn, but i think i might make a kpopOS (because i really like kpop ofc lol)

this is going to be a lot of work lol (essentially starting over again) but let’s see where this goes

okay so forget the graphics i’m gonna ship it as is

i added a favicon and some more content today!! and i think it’s finally time to ship!

i’m starting to remodel my schematics into my actual project now that i have the basics of kicad down (it’s very much testing my patience)

i want to make a cool little gadget that i will actually use for school and make my life better

features i’ve brainstormed:

• 3 modes; presentation, studying, and productivity
• presentation: slide changes, trigger speaker notes, etc.
• studying: set up all the study tabs with one click (automation), music control, and a pomodoro timer
• productivity: image background remover… idk the rest yet but it lowk js gotta look cool
• colorful LEDs!!

right now, i’m working on the schematic and holy moly is it testing my patience. i spent like an hour today trying to find the right models of stuff, and now i’m trying to figure out how to string all the LEDs together without triggering fricking ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS anyways thanks for reading <3

today i optimized the site for mobile viewing and tinier screens. when i would make my screen smaller before, it would format awkwardly, so i decided to optimize it

it runs fine on localhost rn but my github is like just lagging and not deploying

i will add more graphics believe me guys and a favicon before i ship…looking forward to this!!

yesterday and today i’ve been doing other things, so i haven’t gotten as much time to work on this

i added a footer to my website with links to my external accounts and stuff, and i think i’m finally starting to get the hang of css!! i finally figured out the difference between margin and padding lmao

i also changed my header a bit, renamed my home page and isolated it from the rest of the nav links so it looks more professional

i think i’m very close to actually shipping the project, my goal for tomorrow is to just find images and add image credits to the site

i do want an opinion tho, do you guys think i should add more images to the website?

today i got my kicad set up (finally!) with the care package and everything!!

i’m really new to hardware stuff, but the guide is really helpful and i learned how to use the schematic and pcb editors!!

it took me forever to upload all the .sym libraries and files but i pulled through and got it set up

next time im going to start the actual project, which i’m still brainstorming (idk what i want to do with the hackpad…)

today i added a card format for my devlog, now u click on an article and it expands for you to read instead of having like 10 articles literally smacked in your face.

i also added more content and images, im still trying to figure out the css grid (forget wordpress, css may be my biggest op) but for now everything looks pretty good! i really still like the cozy vibe

im considering adding a section but idt there would be any point cuz theres nothing else to yap about

today i finally got the vite and everything set up, got a new api and created my site!!

this is my first time using vite and other interesting file types such as gitignore and related stuff!

i pretty much just followed the guide, but i started a bit differently by initially just creating a github repo instead of importing the files afterwards

right now the website shows some really interesting clouds! i also edited the css a bit (finally getting the hang of css after losing it for 4 years!!) to give it a cooler vibe and stuff – i really like the monospace fonts idk why but yeah!!

today i didn’t have much time to work on this, but i added some more inspos and stuff, and i also am trying to figure out how to add graphics

the domain grant showed up, but im probs gonna save it for when the website is actually done to get a good domain and publish it

the inspiration section is now very tuff and inspirational, im experimenting with graphics on the home page, so don’t mind if stuff looks off
