Devlog #8
New properties for the Yarn & a Clock app
In the last devlog, I added the red strings kind of yarn that link folders to the windows of the apps, but it was always a straight line. So, during this devlog, what I tried to do was I made it so that the yarn actually bends, so that it gives the it much more natural look as if the yarn was actually connected to the app window, and due to gravity it was bending down a bit. That’s the kind of look I was trying to imitate.
Next, I also added a clock-like app. like it can be accessed via clicking on the time in the top right corner. and it just shows the clock in a bigger window.
Also regarding the yarn, it is now such that whenever I open an app window, the yarn obviously gets connected but after that. Lemme explain with a example.
For example, let’s say i open the shredder, so the yarn is connected from the shredder file to the shredder app window. and whenever i move the window and place it somewhere on the corkboard, lets say some another corner of the webos, and if i close the window now, then the yarn, gets pinned to the corkboard in that location.
So basically, it remembers where the last time the window was closed. And it pins the yarn as if it was pinned to the corkboard using a thumb pin.
