Okkkkkkkay. I finally finished making two more views and linked the logic of the app groups/folders with their specific rules to the actual app timer. Even though the GUI isn’t pretty to look at, I just focused on getting it working. I did a terrific job at sniping all the bugs (took me 9h man😭😭), but I did also use a Claude’s help when I couldn’t find the root cause.
The core ideea of the app works right now, what I do have left is fixing the UI for the newly added views (i have a LOT of work to do here) and implementing the rest of the “small” features I have in mind.
Right now, it’s not pleasant to look at, but this is not what this devlog is about, it’s about the functionality I added to the app. To explain it in more detail, you can now create groups/folders with different apps inside of them and different rules applied for each group, meaning that if you don’t want the app to track the time you spend in let’s say Slack and other messaging apps, you can create a folder with that rule, and thats it.
There are still bugs, like it not saving its config file 100% of the time or the fact that you can’t delete folders, or that you can add an app to multiple folders, etc…
But I was getting close to the 10h mark and I had to post a devlog.
See ya next time!
