I found this project guide on how to build a coil gun. It seemed interesting so now I’m researching how to build it and how it works. To start, I read through the entire guide since I only skimmed over it before picking it. After, I created my own parts list that aligned with the parts listed in the guide. Then, I looked up the parts online and found the correct products and prices for each part that I needed to get. Since everything else that I need I can get for free and not online, I think that the next step is funding approval so I can get the parts and start building.
