DEVLOG #1
I am working on building a smart universal remote that emulates infrared signals to control entertainment systems, having already successfully completed and integrated the live weather station functionality for when the device is idle. Its with the use of an esp8266 and TFT DISPLAY now, will add other components later.

yoo!! i’ve seen this type of remote! That required the buttons to be mapped before hand. Just a recomendation tho, but it’ll be pretty cool if it didn’t even need the mapping, although I do think that’s why you added “smart” in the name. But good luck!!

@mincych Hey, thanks for the suggestion! That’s actually exactly why I wanted to call it ‘smart.’ I’m planning to leverage the ESP8266’s Wi-Fi to pull pre-mapped device profiles from a database so users can just select their device from a menu and skip the setup entirely and if there is any remote thats not in the database you can just manually save the ir signal once and use it .
