Hello everyone, welcome to Devlog #7 of Hikari! (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

Manga API Fallback

Okay, so talking about the updates for this devlog, I have now finally added the API fallback chain for mangas as well.

I used:

AniList → MangaDex → Jikan → Kitsu

AniList is the primary API, then MangaDex, then Jikan, and finally Kitsu.

And it seems like both MangaDex and Jikan are down. When I used them a few months before, they were active, but I don’t wonder why they all are, like, getting down and not accepting the requests. (but still i kept them on the fallback just in case if any of them come to life =) )

What’s Next?

In the upcoming future, I am going to work on the genre filter for mangas in the same way i worked for the anime.

I was also thinking of shipping this project after completing the Anime and Manga sections.

I know it looks a bit plain right now, but I wanted to see what you all think about it. I might get some good recommendations from you guys, which I might implement.
