I’ve been working with the idea and design of the mask so far. I’ve finished the sketch and have begun working on completing the basics of the mask. The top part of the face is done through lofting and sweeping in Onshape, but I still have to work on the bottom jaw. I’m planning on printing the top part first, so that I know the dimensions are correct before working on the opening mouth mechanism.
Fun things:
- I’m planning to add a clear plastic-like material onto the eye sockets, and I made the teeth gear-like to aim for a steampunk-robot design.
- The opening and closing “mouth” in the sketches is inspired by Predator (though I’ve never watched the movie, I’m too scared (ᵕ—ᴗ—) )
- It won’t be a full-head mask to save on filament. I’m planning to use some strips of fabric or something to keep it on my face.
- As seen in the sketches, I plan to have the bottom jaw move when I move my bottom jaw
