COSMOCRYPT VT-80 is a retro-futuristic space terminal that encrypts and hides secret text messages inside digital images using Least Significant Bit (LSB) steganography. Styled like a flat 1980s monochrome CRT console, it converts text into binary and embeds the data directly into the Red, Green, and Blue pixel channels. The encoded image is exported as a lossless PNG and can be shared publicly before being decoded with the terminal's built-in laser scanner. The experience is enhanced with real-time digital signal processing effects, including a Sub-pixel Telemetry Microscope that magnifies pixels, highlights modified RGB channels, and displays the hidden payload bits. A Signal Interference slider simulates transmission noise by adding CRT static, radio hum, visual screen snow, and random bit-flips during decoding, producing realistically corrupted messages and demonstrating how noisy communication channels affect hidden data.
