Audio, Camera follow, and new bumper!
I added a dynamic audio system to the spinning shaft system. It plays audio from an audio source and adjusts its pitch based on the shaft’s rpm. In addition to this, I added events that can trigger functions in other scripts when the shaft reaches max speed and spools down.
I also wrote a 3rd person camera follower, it uses tags on the player to make it easy to implement in other robots!
I also remodeled the front bumper of the robot in blender. The original one looked kinda bad since the bevels were not matching with the rest of the bumpers.(screenshots included!)

This is really cool! It’d be great (this’d also be really hard) if you simulated the actual physics of the intake motors and all that, then teams could test out their designs before building them!
thanks @Brandt. Simulating motor physics of the intake and balls would be kinda complicated, this is also my first big unity project. I am looking to add a kitbot plus with a bunch of extra features such as auto align and an adjustable hood(possibly, ill have to cad that 😭), and climb
