Devlog – 5; 23/07/2026
Today was a HUGE day for LifeFlow ngl :’)
Started the session by fixing one of the funniest bugs ever. The ambient sounds weren’t working for so long, and after checking everything… the audio files turned out to be 0 KB lol. Replaced them with actual MP3 files and finally got the rain, forest, ocean and café sounds working :D
Then shifted all the focus to the Settings page. Connected the daily focus goal with the Focus page, finished the export and import backup system, and added a complete app reset feature. There was one stubborn note that refused to disappear after resetting the app, but after digging through localStorage I finally found the culprit and fixed it xD.
After all the functionality was done, we started the most exciting part… the redesign!!
Decided to completely transform LifeFlow into a Frutiger Aero + Glassmorphism + Neo Modernism style app. Reworked the sidebar, quick actions, stat cards, recent notes, habit progress and today’s tasks with glossy glass cards, softer colors, rounded corners and much better spacing. The dashboard is finally starting to feel premium instead of just “another React dashboard” lol.
Also ran into a couple of funny bugs along the way. Today’s Tasks weren’t showing any names because I was saving them as text but trying to display title T_T. Then another CSS conflict made the task cards turn into ugly black rectangles because Planner and Dashboard were sharing the same .task-item class. Fixed that by giving the dashboard its own class names. Lesson learned… generic CSS class names are evil :’)
At the end of today’s session the dashboard is almost complete!!
Done:
Greeting :)
Sidebar
Quick Actions
Stat Cards
Recent Notes
Habit Progress
Today’s Tasks
Still left:
Calendar Preview
Focus Widget
Honestly, seeing LifeFlow slowly become the app I had imagined feels amazing. Every day it’s looking less like a school project and more like a real productivity app. Can’t wait to finish the dashboard tomorrow and then redesign the rest of the pages :D <3
