v6 LTS is on the horizon. Scheduled time with a friend who actually owns a Tim Cook machine, fingers crossed a Mac build comes out the other side of that session actually working.

First real LTS push. Different mindset than the last 18 devlogs of feature work and 3am bug hunts — LTS means stability first, and it also means finally taking a real swing at macOS instead of leaving it as a someday problem.

1 — Prepping For v6 LTS
Getting the groundwork in place for the first Long Term Support build. Less “ship the coolest thing,” more “ship the thing that won’t need constant babysitting after release.”
2 — Borrowing A Friend’s Mac
Don’t own a Mac. Scheduled dedicated time with a friend’s actual Apple hardware to attempt a real build instead of guessing blind or fighting a CI-only setup with no way to actually test the output.
3 — The Honest Caveat: Mac Support Will Lag
Straight talk: limited access to Mac hardware means Mac builds will very likely only get LTS releases going forward, and will land late relative to betas and regular updates on other platforms. Not ideal, but better to say it now than pretend otherwise.

Q: What is a “progger”?
A: A human programmer. You. The one borrowing a friend’s Mac because Apple hardware access is not a given.
Q: Will Mac users get every update?
A: Realistically, no — LTS builds only for the foreseeable future, and later than other platforms. Access to hardware is the bottleneck, not desire to support it.
Q: Why prioritize LTS over a beta cycle right now?
A: Stability’s the actual goal for v6. Betas can come later once the LTS foundation’s solid.
Q: Is the Mac build guaranteed to work this session?
A: No promises. That’s what “fingers crossed” means.
Q: What happens if the Mac session doesn’t go well?
A: Try again next time hardware access lines up. Not giving up on it, just constrained by it.
