Begun with an inflated, messy app that felt like it was completely generated by AI—Comic Sans font, red and yellow colors galore, waveform visualizers, cool animations, 1100+ lines of code. Found that the entire Hack Club integration with AI was impossible due to the fact that the browsers don’t allow cross-origin requests, so I set up a proxy server on the back end to facilitate these requests and programmed intelligent fall back systems for six free models. Redesigned the user interface with Georgia serif, paper color palette, and forest green accents and eliminated all the stuff that were technically not needed because they were useless (no emojis, fancy borders, typewriter effect, beeps) and reduced the size to around 672 lines i believe of code. And now I have a human friendly app that does everything it’s supposed to do voice chat, AUTO conversation mode, four personality choices, timers, memory notes, and night mode.
