IT’S READY!

I am very happy to say that I’m done with the main game! I wanted to split this into a couple of devlogs, but Stardance was having some issues syncing time earlier so I kept working.
(I think it’s actually been up for a little bit… oops)

Buzzing -> Judging

Judging now is fully functional! Either someone gets the clue right, everyone gets it wrong, or not everybody buzzes in and we move on.
I’ve also introduced something called Hostless Mode, which allows the game host to play (where normally they could not).
This plays more like most online versions of the gameshow, where you can buzz in, reveal the answer, and then that’s that (instead of everyone getting a chance to buzz in if the first person is wrong).
This also gives a way to play singleplayer, which should make it more accessible.

All of this took a lot of careful logic work to make sure that everything works as expected (hence the VERY long log time, plus several other things), no matter how you’re playing!

End of Line

The game, also, can finally end, now that clues get marked off. I made a simple leaderboard that shows when the game is over, and then you can return to the lobby! See the photo below.

GAMEPLAY!

You can watch a short gameplay example with a host (right) + 2 players (left) below! You’re expected to play with voice (or a text channel, if you wish), so this demo just showcases the flow of the game.

I logged a lot of time on this one because there was also a lot of testing and fixing small bugs, especially when making the judging system. A lot can get weird when managing so much state!
