I started out stuck because the Update PCB button was missing when I opened the board file on its own. I fixed this by opening the project through the main KiCad Project Manager, which successfully connected my schematic to my circuit board layout.Next, I ran into a spot where the custom Xiao microcontroller footprint would not show up because of active search filters. I turned off those filters and linked the custom Hack Club footprint libraries so I could assign the correct hardware parts to my symbols. After that, I successfully pushed my schematic data onto the circuit board. I placed my three keyswitches and the Xiao controller onto a neat, vertical circuit board layout and began managing the connection paths. Finally, I studied the exact engineering dimensions needed for the physical body, including the 57.40 mm by 19.00 mm inner cutout and the 2.90 mm corner mounting holes. I then used those measurements in a 3D CAD tool to design a clean, extruded top plate enclosure that perfectly matches my hardware.
