Devlog #1: HOW HAVE I DONE NOTHING IN 13 HOURS. 🫩🫩🫩

was too scared to post this devlog because I’ve lowkey done nothing

… but then I looked and saw 13 HOURS?? anyways, this is what I did for my personal website this last week!!:

1 Design

• This was the fun part!! Most of the time spent this past week was designing my character who the entire website is pretty much themed around and the palette for everything!!

• I mean, they’re not on the site yet.. but.. they exist pinkie promise.

• i also designed venus (the little cute goldfish who’s the cursor!! isnt he the cutest!!) and the favicon!

2 Coding… god I hate javascript 🫩
–Ok guys i promise I’ve coded a website before, but whenever it came to javascript I lowkey just

• … copied junk from like w3schools or something 💀

• so actually trying to learn what to do was like trying to put a circle in a square hole in my little dumb brain.

• the main thing was the cursor, omg.. that might have taken the entire 13 hours like genuinely i contemplated giving up like 80 times 💀💀

• dont even get me started on the stupid draggable thing.. i’m glad i did it now so I wouldn’t crash out later but JEEZ I WAS CRASHING OUT NOW 😭✌️

• NEWSFLASH!! CODING IS… KINDA HARD ACTUALLY

• thank god for youtube and the probably 30 year old redditors named like u/poopfart and u/discordekitten for posting the most comprehensive tutorials on the internet ily

What’s Next?

• I’m planning on implementing one of the main events next: the banner!!

• it’s not even on the site yet but.. it’s in the works! I’m planning on having my little character be interactive in it but idk how.. see yall in another week probably LMBO

TLDR: absolute HTMLarp tries and fails for 13 hours to just change the cursor and nothing else
