Player Head and Banner Overhaul (sorta)

For the newbies (YES THAT INCLUDES YOU)

There are certain cool building techniques that, unfortunately, are
exclusive to commands. With this Fabric mod, you can use player heads,
have invisible item frames, pose armor stands, and create complex
particle designs, all from the comfort of your crafting table!

Important changes

Player heads are now obtainable in survival! You can craft them by surrounding a piece of obsidian with clay balls. Changing the skin will be sorted out by the time the next devlog releases.

In vanilla Minecraft, banners only get 6 layers for their design. If you abuse commands or use an NBT editor, you can get a banner with 16 layers, but I think that’s an odd limitation. With this mod, that cap is expanded to 16 layers (have fun making a layer for each dye in the game). You can still duplicate the banner or add it to a shield like normal.

Plans

  • If you look in the project’s Github (consider starring it btw), I am planning to add a block that can both edit a player head’s skin and change the color for any banner layer. For the former, the block will generate 3 dyes that you need to collect to change the skin. Ultimately, I want this to feel like a quick little side adventure for players.
  • Add a particle painter to the game. The particle can be configured by including certain items in a crafting table, and there are two modes. One spawns particles at the player’s position, and the other paints particles onto blocks (y’know, like an actual paintbrush)

thanks for actually reading! (also consider starring the project on Github)

because I never want to see a Mixin ever again.
