🌊 OceanOS 4.0 — The OceanOS Messages Era Is Here

OKAY… I KNOW I JUST RELEASED OCEANOS 4.0. 😭

But I wasn’t done.

After all the SVGs, debugging, redesigns, new apps, and Lumos AI, I decided OceanOS needed something that felt a little more… alive.

So I built something new.

💬 Introducing: Messages

OceanOS now has a Messages app.

And this isn’t just a basic texting app.

You can now text, voice call, and video call Lumos AI, Alex, Sam, Maya, and the OceanOS Team.

Yep.

All of them. 😏

Each character has their own advanced Gemini-powered voice, personality, and communication experience. They’re designed to feel like actual people you can interact with—not just static AI characters sitting inside an app.

And the best part?

It all works together seamlessly.

Text them.

Call them.

Video call them.

Switch between conversations.

Everything is integrated directly with the Gemini API key, so the experience feels like one connected part of OceanOS instead of a bunch of separate features glued together.

When you first open Messages, you’ll be greeted with four account options:

• Guest
• Ocean Developer
• Personal
• Work

This makes Messages feel like an actual part of the operating system rather than just another app.

Different accounts.

Different conversations.

One OceanOS experience.

📞 Texting. Voice. Video.

This is probably the part I’m most excited about.

Messages isn’t limited to typing.

You can have a normal conversation through text, switch to a voice call, or jump into a video call.

And because these are all powered by the same Gemini integration, everything works together surprisingly smoothly.

I spent a LOT of time making sure the experience felt seamless.

No weird transitions.

No completely separate systems.

Just…

Messages.

I have a feeling this is going to open up a LOT of possibilities for OceanOS.
