This has been something I have been interested to make an app for a while. The issue it addresses is that across the common law world, a crisis has been unfolding for decades, one that rarely makes headlines until it touches someone personally. Court backlogs, adjournments, and years-long delays have become so normalized that many citizens accept them as an unavoidable feature of justice itself.
I am trying to make a companion app/website designed to reduce judicial backlog and give citizens the clarity on the legal court process and see the status of their cases. The main idea came from a Law project and later I researched the issue of court delays, but by a conversation with a friend from Ireland, who helped me see that the backlog crisis not just in one country. It is global, and it demands a solution that goes beyond simply hiring more judges.
On my first day I worked on making a demo website and eventually will be published to everyone here to test out. The app is based off the Irish legal system so it might be some differences there but probably be a great idea to expand to accommodate it for multiple countries. If you have any ideas on what should be added, feel free to let me know.
