Big milestone — got it running on an actual physical machine instead of just QEMU. Had to go back into stage 1 and loosen a couple of assumptions that only held up in an emulator; real BIOSes are pickier than QEMU’s about a few things. Nothing structural changed, just less forgiving case to handle.
